SOLD OUT A Restorative Mini-Retreat

Experience profound levels of inner peace and well-being in the beautiful setting of Tower Hill Botanic Garden during this mini-retreat. Julie and Julie will guide you on a journey of exploration as you learn how to more fully integrate the mind and body, restoring a healthy balance to your busy daily life. You are invited to experience several formal and informal mindfulness techniques, and will learn about pathways for continued guided instruction. This retreat will feature gentle movement, mindfulness practices, music, expressive arts, and Yoga Nidra, a deeply restorative, healing form of meditative yoga. You will be refreshed and revitalized, and will leave the retreat with the tools to help you create a sustainable practice at home.

Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat, blanket, water bottle, and journal.

Julie Crantz holds a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology. She is a certified Divine SleepĀ® Yoga Nidra Teacher and Reiki Master. She obtained her certifications at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA. In addition, she is a graduate of the MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) program at the UMASS Center for Mindfulness and a graduate of the SMART (Stress Management and Resiliency Training) program at Benson- Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Mass General Hospital. Julie Rumrill is a qualified teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), a scientifically supported, mind-body medicine program developed at UMASS Medical School. She has taught and led mindfulness practices in a wide variety of settings including: corporate teambuilding retreats, private writing groups, women's creativity workshops, and for proactive mental health for first-year university students. She also works privately with individuals affected by Asthma and Diabetes, teaching mindfulness practices to help manage chronic illness, anxiety, and depression. In addition to her mindfulness work, Julie is also a certified yoga instructor, and has ten years of experience as an impassioned professor of Earth Science at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut, where she is currently helping to create a center for mindfulness on campus. When she's not teaching, she enjoys reading, writing, painting, hiking, kayaking, and rock-collecting.
